Reference scheme

Each master carries a reference of the form KA, then a collection letter, then a three-digit number that is never reused. A session that was split into several files keeps one number and adds a lower-case letter for each file, so KA-W-022b is the second file of session 22 in the ridge collection. Set references, which group several sessions recorded on one day, use the word SET in place of the number.

Reading an entry

Each entry gives the reference, a short title that names the place type and the weather, the format, the file size and the length. Where a file has a known problem, such as a channel that clips in strong gusts, the entry says which channel and at what level. Sizes are given for the master, not for any working copy.
